EXTREME EYEBROW β PERMANENT KIOSK SITE IN MERRYHILL SHOPPING CENTRE DUDLEY
BRIEF
Index DFE were asked to create a premium looking and eye-catching eyebrow threading kiosk within a large shopping mall retail space. The client wanted to incorporate modern technology using LED lighting, solid surface materials, quality laminates and latest manufacturing techniques.
CHALLENGE
Unit has to be visible from all approaches but give total privacy to customers- Accommodate a minimum of three workstations and hold a small amount of merchandising stock.
- Have a till and sink incorporated within the build
- Seating area for upto six people Limited space of 6m x 3m floor area
SOLUTION
Index were tasked with providing a complete turnkey solution for Intu which included the design and build of new eyebrow threading kiosk within one of their key shopping centres, Merry Hill, Dudley.
Using our in-depth experience and knowledge of working with other beauty product brands we were able to design and deliver a solution that provided a welcoming and enriched experience for both customers and employees.
The use of high gloss wood laminates to the exterior walls was used to give a luxury look and feel, whilst a practical solid surface cream interior finish was used on the interior walls, work surfaces and capping. Flashes of lime green finishes to the totem signage and logo complimented the whole kiosk β the overall affect was natural, earthy and soothing.
Subtle LED lighting was used around the tops of the walls, rebated out of the top capping to give a soft touch of light to the interior and exterior wall areas. High intensity angle poise lamps were used in each workstation for the detailed procedure of eyebrow threading.
To accommodate all of the essential equipment used by the beauticians, a specific design was created for each work station to house the lotions, threading, tissues, waste bin and waxing pots.
The enclosed seating area also doubled up as a large storage area, allowing the client to house all spare equipment and stock in lift up storage boxes below each seat pad. All on heavy duty gas lift stays, making this area completely functional. Ornate classic black picture frames were then used as a decorative finish to the kiosk to house price lists, treatment offerings and general visual images, breaking up each workstation.
The kiosk has been hugely popular and Intu centre management are now using this as an example to all kiosk designs through out their estate in term of design, function and quality.
Intu are very impressed with the look and application of the Extreme Eyebrow kiosk – itβs being used as the template model for all kiosks within Intu shopping centres.
