AN UPDATED LOOK FOR THE SCHOOL AND EXCITEMENT FOR KEYSTAGE 1
OUTSIDE SIGNAGE – PARKLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL – SOUTH WIGSTON
BRIEF
Index DFE were asked to review the signage to the outside of the school. The design needed to maintain the logo style and the look of The Trust whilst bringing a new, more welcoming feel to the entrance of the school. In addition, suggestions for improving the ‘brickwall’ in the Keystage 1 Playground Area were also requested.
CHALLENGE
- To bring a more ‘welcome’ feel to the school entrance area.
- To maintain the design link to The Trust.
- Provide more structure and interest to the KS1 Playground.

SOLUTION
By manipulating the current logo design we were able to create a more comprehensive feel to the signage panels at the entrance to the school. By utilising the existing ‘Tree’ Design to give a familiar feel to the logo, the new logo encapsulates the caring, supportive nature of the school and reflects the feel of teamwork between Adults and Children that the school promotes.
For the Keystage 1 Playground Area large format ‘digger’ graphics were applied to the plain brickwall. This enhances the play experience for the younger children within the school and allows them to develop play ideas around a construction site.
