A TASTE OF FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE COMES TO THE UK
L’OCCITANE – MARKS AND SPENCER PLC – UK AND IRELAND & FENWICK, NEWCASTLE
BRIEF
Index DFE Limited were approached by L’Occitane to provide design solutions for the different fixtures within M&S Stores Nationwide UK and in Ireland, whilst at the same time achieving a generic look to the stores.
CHALLENGE
- L’Occitane is located in different areas within the different stores.
- Bay area differ in size.
- Shelving configurations differ.
SOLUTION
Working with the Brand and focussing on the ‘Sunshine’ look that L’Occitane wanted to bring to the M&S Stores a preferred format was created for the top 10 Stores. This design was then manipulated to roll-out the look over the remaining 24 Stores. Through a combination of graphic panels, headers and shelf talkers, we were able to bring a generic look to all stores regardless of the bay sizes on offer within stores. An adaptation of the designed allowed for additional graphics to be added to any instore Gondola Units whilst maintaining a cohesive look. Co-ordination of the project roll-out was key to coincide with a new launch. All installations were completed within a 2 week window.
The look was also rolled out across the Independent L’Occitane Stores Nationwide and in independent Store Groups JLP and Fenwick. Within Fenwick Newcastle, the addition of a testing/wash station was required. By following the key components of the ‘Sunshine’ look, we created a bespoke circular 3 bowl stand which sat seamlessly with the bespoke back fixture and imported french free-standing units on the site. Space was created through a central, raised stand for L’Occitane Tester Bottles to be placed, allowing Customers the opportunity to try a select range of products.
